What’s new
What changed in each version of Retirement Planner. To see the notes for your version in the app, choose Help ▸ What’s New.
Version 1.1.0
- Compare tab. Compare up to four strategies side by side: totals over the plan, the difference year by year, and the settings that set them apart — as a household too, saved for later, stress-tested together and in the client report. See Comparing strategies.
- CPP break-even. A new Break-even tab on the CPP and OAS tabs shows the age at which starting later pays off, with an “If you live to” slider and an optional return on early payments. See CPP.
- CPP timing. The new Timing tab lays out every combination of stopping contributions and starting the pension. See CPP.
- Both options on one chart. The CPP and OAS charts draw both start ages on the same axes, as bars, a line or a shaded area.
- OAS clawback and second start age together. The clawback line can be shown while comparing two OAS start ages.
- Estate & Survivorship. Choose what passes to the surviving spouse — accounts, property, pension and debts — and how it is taxed. See Household mode.
- Shortfall tolerance. Small gaps against the budget no longer count as shortfalls; choose the threshold in Preferences. See Preferences.
- Quebec Pension Plan. Clients in Quebec are planned with QPP rules.
- French. The app is available in French (Canada).
- Spouses link both ways. Linking two clients sets both to Married/Common Law, and linking a strategy to a spouse’s strategy links it back. See Spouses and partners.
- Household mode checks the plan against both spouses’ budgets and carries on through the years after the first death.
- Mortgages per strategy. Mortgage changes on a strategy’s Real estate tab now count in the Debt tab and net worth.
- Fixed: OAS and GIS were left out for clients already receiving them.
- 2026 tax year and updated benefit amounts.
- Plans. Pro and Advisor, yearly, or Pro bought outright. See Plans and purchases.
